Ghaus-ul-Azam Sayyiduna Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani (رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ)
Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani was a prominent figure in Islamic history, renowned for his role as a Hanbali scholar, preacher, and Sufi leader. He is especially celebrated as the namesake of the Qadiriyya, one of the oldest and most influential Sufi orders.
Born on March 23, 1078, in the town of Na’if, situated in Rezvanshahr, Gilan, Iran, Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani’s life was marked by a deep commitment to Islamic scholarship and spirituality. His influence extended far beyond his era, leaving an indelible mark on the Islamic world.
He passed away on February 21, 1166, in the city of Baghdad, where his teachings and spiritual legacy continue to resonate with followers of the Qadiriyya Sufi order and the broader Islamic community to this day. Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani’s enduring impact is a testament to his profound contributions to Islamic thought, spirituality, and Sufism.
