Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib أبو عبد الله الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب
Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib أبو عبد الله الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب January 626 – 10 October 680) holds a profound place in Islamic history as the grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and the son of Ali ibn Abi Talib and Muhammad’s daughter, Fatima. Additionally, he is the younger sibling of Hasan ibn Ali, and he serves as the third Imam of Shia Islam, following in the footsteps of his brother, Hasan, and paving the way for his son, Ali ibn Husayn Zayn al-Abidin. As a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, he is an esteemed member of the Ahl al-Bayt, a prominent family within Islam.
Furthermore, Husayn is recognized as a pivotal figure within the Ahl al-Kisa, a group integral to the event of Mubahala. In the eyes of Muhammad, he and his brother, Hasan, were celebrated as “the leaders of the youth of Paradise.”
